Session 2015-16

The sapling of education, planted in the year of 1955 by Seth Kirorimal Lohariwala, a social worker, philanthropist, donor, visionary and zealous, in the name of K. M. Basic Teacher’s Training College, Bhiwani has now gained strength and turned into a huge and strong banyan tree which provides shelter and perfect teaching ambience to thousands of students from Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan etc. who later contribute positively in the progress of the nation.

The present look of the college is really magnificent. Its double storey building provides ethical, aesthetic and perfect ambience for teaching learning process. Lush green ubiquitious lawns with rosy beds and scenic beauty sufficiently provide feeding to eyes. Playgrounds for Cricket and facilities for Chess, Carrom Board, Badminton and Table Tennis really fulfil the need of the hour. The college provides facility of co-education system and for the allround development of the students it provides them different labs such as Science Lab, I.C.T. Lab, Teaching Aids Lab, Psychology Lab, Chalk Board Writing Lab, Work Experience Lab fitted and flushed with modern amenities, and to cater their diverse needs, there are Women Cell, Placement Cell, SC/ST Cell, Legal Literacy Cell, Career & Guidance Cell, Grievances Redressal Cell and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) which exist alongwith Eco Club, Mathematics Club, Red Ribbon Club, Youth Red Cross Club, Literary and Cultural Society and Centre for Innovation, Research and Development.

Session 2015-16 started on 20.8.2015. One Week Orientation Programme was organized from 21.8.2015 to 28.8.2015. The main purpose of the programme was to get the newly admitted students acquainted with the system of college and with the B.Ed. Course, options available. On 28.8.2015 Counseling of the students was done besides Library instructions programme for the students on the same day. Talent Search Competition was organized on 17.10.2015 and on the basis of performance exhibited by the Students, Literary and Cultural Societies of the college for session 2015-16 were constituted. Fresher Party was organized on 21.11.2015.

Achievements of Teaching Faculty

The college has a faculty of selfless, dedicated, efficient and delegent teachers, who are always ready to guide and help the students. At present, there are 7 Faculty Members of Staff excluding Principal. The achievements of the members of the session 2015-16 available in College record are following:

1.      Presented the paper on the topic Use of ICT in Education for improving learning outcomes in the Two Day ICSSR sponsored National Seminar on the theme Formulating New Education Policy For The Emerging India: Interventions, Expectations & Challenges organized by Bhagwan Mahaveer College of Education, Jagdishpur Sonepat on 19.12.2015 to 20.12.2015.

2.      Presented the paper on the topic Use of ICT in Educational Transformation for Futuristic Education in the One Day DHE (Haryana) Sponsored National Seminar on the theme Skill Based Education: Scope and Perspectives under RUSA organized by RBS College of Education, Rewari on 31.1.2016.

3.      Presented the paper on the topic Futuristic Education Practices for the Modern World in the Two Days ICSSR Sponsored National Seminar on the theme “Teacher Education in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous World: Critical Issues Concerning Teacher Education in 2014 and Beyond” organized by Rao Abhay Singh P.G. College of Education, Saharanwas, Rewari on 5.2.2016 to 6.2.2016.

4.      Presented the paper on the topic Suggestive Measures for 21st Century Teacher Education in Indian Scenario in the One Day DGHE (Haryana) sponsered National Conference on the theme “Restructing Teacher Education: Issues and Challenges” organized by Gaur Brahman College of Education, Rohtak on 29.3.2016.

3.      National Seminar on “Emerging Issues and Challenges in Implemention of RUSA” on 26th March, 2016 at Sohan Lal DAV College of Education, Ambala City. Paper presented titled “RUSA: Issues and Challenges”.

1.      Paper presented on the topic “Apprehending the Dimensions of Higher Education in India” in  National Seminar, ICSSR Sponsored on Formulating New Education Policy for the Emerging India: Interventions, Expectations and Challenges at Bhagwan Mahaveer COE, Jagdishpur, Sonepat on 19-20.12.2015.

Literary and Cultural Achievements:

Throughout the session the students successfully left the impression of their talent by grabbing maximum prizes in various competitions organized at College, Inter College, Zonal Youth Festival levels.

In Zonal Youth Festival (Bhiwani Zone) of M.D.University, Rohtak organised by Vaish College, Bhiwani from 2.11.2015 to 4.11.2015, Parul Roll No. 23 got 2nd Prize in Mock Interview and Parul Roll No. 23 got 3rd Prize in Debate, Hindi (Against the motion).

In Inter Zonal Youth Festival of M.D.University, Rohtak organised at KIIT Campus, Bhondsi, Gurgaon from 7.11.2015 to 9.11.2015, Parul Roll No. 23 participated in Mock Interview.

In Inter College Quiz Contest on the occasion of World AIDS Day was organized by Vaish College, Bhiwani on 1.12.2015, Charu, Manisha, Parul got 3rd Prize in Quiz Contest.

In State Level Competitions (2015-16) in collaboration with Legal Literacy Cell, Women Cell and Youth Red Cross organised by Pt. Sita Ram Shastri B.Ed. Training College, Bhiwani on 1st & 2nd April, 2016, Neha Sharma Roll No. 16 got 1st Prize in Declamation (English), Manisha Roll No. 10 got 2nd Prize in Slogan Writing, Sonu Roll No. 22 got 3rd Prize in Sanskrit Shaloka Uccharan, Charu Bhardwaj Roll No. 05 got Consolation Prize in Best Out of Waste.

 

Extension Activities:

·        On 4th Sep, 2015 a workshop on Teaching Aids was organized by Sh. Rann Singh.

·        On 3rd Oct, 2015 a workshop on Paper Cutting was organized by Sh. Inder Lal.

·        On 21st Oct, 2015 a Personality Development Programme was organized on Channeling Youth Power and Make Them Mastermind by Dr. Mukesh Chahal, Asstt. Prof. Govt. College, Bhiwani.

·        On 24th Oct, 2015 a workshop on Hygiene and Measures for Combating Dengue & Swine Flu was organized by Dr. D.K. Ahuja.

·        ICT Skills Development Programme was organized for students from 27.10.2015 to 31.10.2015.

·        On 2nd Nov, 2015 Sh. Mahipal Singh Arya delivered an Extension Lecture on Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. 

·        On 30th Nov, 2015 a Personality Development Programme was organized on Spoken English and Pronunciation by Dr. Manoj Sharma, Lecturer, T.I.T. Sr. Sec. School, Bhiwani.  

·        One Weeks First Aid and Home Nursing Training Camp was organized for students from 1.12.2015 to 7.12.2015 by Sh. Rajender Kumar, Instructer, Red Cross Society, Bhiwani.

·        On 24th Dec, 2015 a Personality Development Programme was organized on How to Improve Communication Skills by Ms. Neha Kakkar.

·        On 18th Jan, 2016 a workshop on ‘Train Your Brain’ was organized by Mr. Jitender.

·        On 4th Feb, 2016 Dr. Bhup Singh, Retd. Lecturer in Physics, Govt. College Bhiwani delivered an Extension Lecture on Human Beings: Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian. 

·        On 6th Feb, 2016 a Personality Development Programme was organized on Yoga for Life Management by Sh. Rajender Kumar.

·        On 9th Feb, 2016 Sh. H.R. Kinra delivered an Extension Lecture on Linkage System of Education. 

·        Two Weeks Programme Engagement with the field in the School was organized for students from 15.2.2016 to 9.3.2016.

·        On 12th Mar, 2016 a Personality Development Programme was organized on Leadership Skills by Dr. (Mrs.) Anuradha.

·        On 15th Mar, 2016 Ms. Neha Kakkar delivered an Extension Lecture on How to Face Interview.

·        On 5th April, 2016 a workshop on Mehandi Designing was organized by Mrs. Kalapana Sharma. 

Celebration of Important Days:

During the session the following days were celebrated with fervour and great zeal.

·        On 15th August, 2015, Independence Day was celebrated.

·        On 19th August, 2015, Tree Plantaion Day was celebrated. On the occasion all the members of staff were present.

·        On 4th Sept. 2015, Teachers’ Day was celebrated.

·        On 1st Dec, 2015, a Rally was organized on World AIDS Day.

·        On 15th Jan. 2016 Founder’s Day was celebrated. The portrait of Seth Kirorimal Lohariwala, the Founder Father, was garlanded and sweets were distributed among the students.

·        On 26th Jan. 2016, to develop the patriotic instincts in the students, the college celebrated Republic Day in all its true colours.  

·        On 8th Mar, 2015 International Women Day in colabration with Pt. Sita Ram Shastri B.Ed. Training College, Bhiwani was celebrated.

Development of Teaching Skills:

The college organised two model lessons for the students followed by First Round of Discussion Lessons, with an aim to prepare the students mentally. Teaching Practice is an important process and for its successful execution we take a few good schools of the city. During these days, our college students stay in the deputed schools for whole time and participate in all the activities helpful in teaching learning process and school administration. In the current session during Nov. & Dec., college students experienced real teaching programme in K.M. High School, Bhiwani, Phoola Devi Sr. Sec. School, Bhiwani, Krishan Parnami High School, Bhiwani, Govt. High School, Hanuman Dhani, Bhiwani for a period of 20 working days. To reckon the change in the teaching skills of the students the college arranged Second Round of Discussion Lessons.

Library cum Information Centre:

The College has a well-stocked up-to-date Internet connected library flushed with variety of books and subscribing international and national journals. Latest publications in the fields of education and educational technology are continuously added to the stock of library to equip students with a wide range of resources. Book Bank facility is provided to all the students. Lighting, ventilation and electricity facilities are extra modern and latest. The Library follows the Dewey Decimal System of classification. The Library is open on all working days for the students. In its reading room section daily newspapers, monthly/ fortnightly magazines and quarterly/ monthly Journals are available for the students and members of staff.

 

Alumni Association:

The college is having a rich Alumni Association and its office bearers, selected from the old students. This association functions for the welfare of the students and to extend valuable services to the institution. This year the college celebrated Alumni Meet on Dec. 25, 2015. The invited old students came and gave the function new heights.

 

 

 

Legal Literacy Cell:

The foremost aim of the cell is to make the students aware to their rights and to develop in them the respect for law and legislature. The cell, on the direction of H.E.C. organised Inter House Competitions:

Women Cell:

In the guidance and direction of Dr. Anuradha, Women Cell of the college is working for the welfare of female students by making them aware of their rights and responsibilities. The cell organized:

·        On 9th Mar, 2016 an Inter-section Salogan Writing Competition was organised.

Red Cross Society:

In this rapidly changing society Human Life has become very complicated and fast. To fulfil sansous pleasures, morality, social norms and discipline are put at stake. At this critical juncture Red Cross Society, to help the students fight evils and mal-practices prevalent in the society, of the college organized:

·        One Weeks First Aid and Home Nursing Training Camp was organized for students from 1.12.2015 to 7.12.2015 by Sh. Rajender Kumar, Instructer, Red Cross Society, Bhiwani.

·        On 19th Oct, 2015 a Slogan Writing Competition was organised.

·        On 24th Oct, 2015 a workshop on Hygiene and Measures for Combating Dengue & Swine Flu was organized by Dr. D.K. Ahuja.

House Examinations:

To prepare the students for annual exams the college holds house examination. During the session 2015-16, the College conducted house examination (full syllabus) from 5.5.2016 to 14.5.2016 on University Pattern. The failed and the poorly performed students were given special, remedial and tutorial lessons from 20.5.2016 to 26.5.2016.

Social Welfare Programmes:

The College in weaker section of Bhiwani organizes campigans on Deseases like Dengue, Swine Flu & Malaria. On 11th July, 2015 College students to sensitize the Society the importance of Vote in Democracy organized a Mini Marathan Rally on the theme “Lifeline of Democracy-Vote, Voter and Voting”.
